American heart pine, back from Argentina
We call it pinotea. You know it as heart pine: the heartwood of the longleaf pine (Pinus palustris), native to the southern United States.
Between the late 1800s and the early 1900s, Argentina imported it from the US to build railways, warehouses, port buildings and homes. When those buildings come down, we salvage the beams and boards, then dry, mill and finish them in our own shop.
Slow-grown wood like this is very hard to find today. It has tight growth rings, a lot of natural resin and a warm amber color that deepens with time. Nail holes and old saw marks stay in the wood, so no two doors are alike.

Estilo & Puertas is a family-owned workshop in Hurlingham, Buenos Aires. We have been building solid wood doors for more than 35 years, and today a team of 15 craftsmen builds every door by hand in our own shop.
We are door makers and exporters. Our doors are in homes across Argentina, and now we ship them to the United States.

Questions from US buyers
Do you really ship to the United States?
Yes. Every door is packed in an export crate and shipped by ocean freight to the continental US. Your quote includes the shipping method and the estimated arrival date.
How long does it take?
20-25 business days to build, plus ocean freight. We send you photos and video of your finished door before it ships.
Can you build it to my exact size?
Yes. Every door is made to measure. Send us the width and height of your opening in inches and we build to it, including oversized and non-standard openings.
Who handles customs and import duties?
It depends on the shipment. Your written quote states clearly what is included and who handles customs, before you pay anything.
Will it work with US hardware?
We install our own lock, or we can prepare the door for the US hardware you choose. Send us the brand and model.
Do you install the door?
No. The door arrives pre-hung in its frame, so any experienced carpenter or door installer can set it in the opening.
How do I know you're a real company?
We have been in business since 1989, with a workshop and showroom at Presidente Perón 6091, Hurlingham, Buenos Aires. Follow our daily work on Instagram (78K followers), and talk to us directly on WhatsApp.
Can you ship to Florida?
Exterior doors for Miami-Dade and Broward counties require a Notice of Acceptance (NOA), which we don't hold yet. Interior and barn doors can ship there.
